Postgraduate studies in Technology Management at the Land War Academy Command from 2002 to 2005 and earned a PhD from Ondokuz Mayis University, specializing in Physical Education and Sport, between 2000 and 2005. Additionally, she holds a postgraduate diploma from Middle East Technical University, where she studied the effects of resistance training on female sex hormones from 1998 to 2000.

Professor and the head of the Sports and Health Department at Ankara University’s Faculty of Physical Education since 2021, after serving as the Deputy Head of Department from 2013 to 2020. Her extensive administrative experience includes various leadership roles such as Vice Presidency and board memberships in sports federations.

Research focus on sports and health, particularly the effects of exercise on health metrics and sports performance, and has published 79 works with over 1000 citations, while also serving as an editor for prominent journals like the Journal of Men’s Health and FRONTIERS IN PHYSIOLOGY. Education

PhD in Sport Science from the Sport Science faculty of Montpellier 1 in 1999 and was awarded the HDR (Professor Qualification) by the same university in 2002, recognizing his ability to conduct high-level research. Additionally, he holds a University Diploma in ‘Doping: from analysis to prevention’ from the Faculty of Medicine of Montpellier (2004) and has earned various coaching certifications across multiple sports disciplines.

Professional Career

He started his career as a professional triathlete and elite coach, participating in the Olympic Games from 2000 to 2008. He has held several academic roles including Senior Lecturer at the Sport Science faculty of Montpellier, Senior Physiologist at Aspire Academy in Qatar, and progressed to roles such as Associate Professor and Director at the University of Lausanne’s Institute of Sport Sciences. As of 2023, he is a Full Professor of Exercise and Environmental Physiology at ISSUL, University of Lausanne.

Scientific Input

Primarily research focuses on the therapeutic uses and risks of hypoxia, how the body adapts to exercise under hypoxic conditions, and the optimization of aerobic and anaerobic training methods. He has been an active contributor to the scientific community, delivering over 90 talks at international conferences, writing 6 books, and authoring 421 journal articles, while also serving as the Chief Editor for “Frontiers in Sports and Active Living” among other editorial roles. Additionally, Millet has provided expert advice to the Olympic Museum and various sports teams on altitude training best practices and is a member of several prestigious scientific committees, including the IOC consensus group on exercise in extreme environments.
